With the HEICO SPORTIV speedpack, Volvo tuner HEICO SPORTIV from Weiterstadt presents a new technology that allows a higher maximum speed to be reached before standard speed throttling kicks in. The HEICO SPORTIV speedpack is intended for V40 series D3, T3 and T5 engines. In addition to that, HEICO SPORTIV also offers e.motion® power enhancement for the top-of-the-range T5 engine.
HEICO SPORTIV has been offering power enhancements for Volvo automobiles since 1995 and, in doing so, has an special status. “The professional development and worldwide distribution of power enhancement products are among HEICO SPORTIV’s core competencies,” explains general manager, Holger Hedtke. “No supplier has a longer track record.”
From the very start, HEICO SPORTIV has tested its products at the infamous Nürburgring-Nordschleife, in particular at the celebrated 24h Race. The competition serves to prove the excellent performance, collected empirical values are fed back directly into the road-vehicle products, and innovation is promoted.
HEICO SPORTIV speedpack boosts maximum speed
The latest innovation, the HEICO SPORTIV speedpack, consists of a control unit, wiring harness and vehicle-specific dataset. The HEICO SPORTIV speedpack allows a higher maximum speed to be reached before standard speed throttling kicks. It works independently of the HEICO SPORTIV e.motion® power en-hancement packet but may be combined optionally if required.

As is the case for all e.motion® power enhancements, the HEICO SPORTIV speedpack comes with a 60-month guarantee starting from the initial registration date (max. 150,000 km). It will be available from July 2013.
High torque for Volvo V40 T5 and V40CC T5
Also new is a power enhancement packet for the top-of-the-range T5 engine. The power punch is delivered by a second, equivalent e.motion® engine control unit that boosts the maximum power of the five-cylinder turbo engine to 197 kW (286 hp). Particularly notable in this connection is the torque increase from 90 Nm to max. 450 Nm, resulting in much better driving performance. The reference vehicle, a Volvo V40 T5, accelerates to 100 km/h in just 6.9* seconds, compared to a standard vehicle which requires 7.3* seconds. Even more impressive is the improvement in the elasticity values: here, the Volvo V40 T5 by HEICO SPORTIV completes the sprint from 80-180 km/h in 17.9* rather than 20.7* seconds for the series vehicle.
Performance and ecological awareness: no contradiction for HEICO SPORTIV
Especially noteworthy in this connection is the 0.3** liter per 100 km drop in fuel consumption and 180**g/km CO2 emission compared to 185 g/km for the series model. At the same time, it goes without saying that the T5 engine still qualifies for the Euro 5 CO2 efficiency rating.
HEICO SPORTIV’s engineers had to take far-reaching measures to achieve this performance. Besides the intelligent electronic control unit, e.motion®, and software specifically tweaked for the five-cylinder turbo engine, the performance enhancement also includes a modified sport air filter. This is needed to ensure the necessary air flow in the air filter housing and, only this carefully tuned combination, is the improved performance possible. The e.motion® T5 power enhancement is available worldwide with immediate effect.
